$7 Easy Frame Re-do

I bought this frame at Christmas Tree Shops, because I loved the look of the old barn wood and the texture.  What I didn't love was the flower painting.  The frame was $6.99, so I decided I would buy it and give it a facelift.  This was really simple...

I painted it a coat of white latex paint.  Then, I went over it ever so gently with the blue paint that I have on the walls in our kitchen and some of the great room.  I didn't want to cover it with the blue, just bring out the texture.  I think it looks like old beach cottage planks.  Then, I recently got some burlap and wanted to try some rosettes with the fabric (I must say, burlap isn't as easy to manipulate as some other fabrics I have used).  I liked the way they turned out, so I popped them on the frame at the bottom.  I had a picture of my son walking the beach, so I added that...waiting on another photo to come in the mail that I think I'll like better, but for the purpose of the blog, this works.

I have recently painted the wall up the stairs and this is a work in progress, taking my time with it.  But, this is what it looks like at the moment.  :-)

Love it! And your wall color is fantastic! Wonder if I could get an invitation down to see it?? hmmm... : ) And I love the pics on the wall- I've been considering taking mine off this wall b/c my kids cannot seem to walk up those steps without knocking them over! It's driving me nuts! Anyways, back to you... great job!!
